We were pleasantly surprised last month when we were contacted by the Senior Editor of COAST Magazine, Jessica Forsyth. She happened to call right about 3:15PM and I had just picked up the kids from school and was in the middle of ordering a double scoop of mint chip ice cream on a sugar cone....Somewhat embarrassed by being caught by someone who might expose one of my many Triple M's "Mister Mom Moments" I did what any self respecting Father would do - I explained that I was in a meeting and asked if she would send me an email with her contact information so as we might talk the next day when I wasn't nearly as busy and then confidently finished my order with upgrading to a waffle cone.
The next day, Mrs. Forsyth and I made arrangements to meet for an interview when the entire "Daddy Cakes® Team" was going to be together. For those not familiar with COAST MAGAZINE, it is a premium publication that reflects some of the finer elements of the Southern California lifestyle. After making arrangements for the interview date, I had visions of being interviewed by someone similar to Lou Grant (the stereotypical 1970's Newspaper Editor played by Ed Asner)/Mary Tyler Moore show....For the record, I was really wrong. Mrs. Forsyth came to our home and she was incredibly nice, spunky and fun to visit with....more like a really bright Mary Tyler Moore. When Jessica left our house it felt like saying "See you later" to a friend.
A few days went by and the photographer called to set up a photo shoot to accompany the story that was to be published in June's COAST Magazine. It just came out this weekend, so get a copy and check out the article.
